Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location
- Holyoke, Massachusetts

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
- 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Every other weekend required
- No call responsibilities
- Float requirements apply (may work across different units)
Unit and Patient Population
- Behavioral health units including adult, pediatric (ages 5-17), and geriatric populations
- Total of 104 beds across five units:
- 2 adult units (24 beds each)
- 1 geriatric unit (24 beds)
- 1 pediatric unit (12 beds)
- Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 1:8, with lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric patients
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation
- Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
- Communicate changes in patient clinical condition to physicians, nursing supervisors/managers, and coworkers
- Participate in discharge planning
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
