    Description

    Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Crescent City, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Details

    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
    • Hours per week: 36
    • Every other weekend required
    • On Call/Call Off based on census

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Certifications issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
      • Social Security trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
      • Nationwide sex offender search
      • Education verification (highest level achieved)
      • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
    • Employment verification for up to 7 years required

    Health and Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, must indicate cleared for work
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
    • TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD
    • Immunizations or titers required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles (Rubeola)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30)
    • Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person, documented by licensed provider)
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually

    Competency and Testing

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • ICU nurses may be required to take EKG exam onsite after start
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Candidate must review and sign facility policies and job description prior to start, including:
      • Standards of Business Conduct
      • Code of Conduct
      • Vendor Training
      • Overpayment Refund Policy
      • General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
    • TB questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Conditional offer of employment attestation required prior to start
    • Religious exemption forms required if applicable for facial hair or vaccine exemptions
