Description
Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Required Experience: Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
- License: Must have a permanent Ohio RN license or a compact state license in hand
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Competencies & Testing
- Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation (90% passing for medication, 80% for ECG)
- Core competency training required annually
- Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
Additional Notes
- Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
- Physical exam and eye exam do not need to be updated annually if currently on assignment without a break
- Immunization declinations are not accepted; medical and religious exemptions must be approved through agency and facility process
- Modules and onboarding must be completed before clearance to start; delays in module completion may delay start date
- Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat onboarding modules and competency exams
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or compact states, seeking a night shift travel assignment with a reputable healthcare facility.
