Description
Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Location: Concord, Massachusetts
Specialty: Special Care Nursery Level 2A
Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
Hours per week: 36 (3 shifts of 12 hours)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday, no on-call requirement
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates during high-risk deliveries and in a Level 2 nursery. Responsible for patient safety and quality of nursing care delivered or supervised. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support patient/family education.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate nursing care for neonates.
- Develop and modify nursing care plans for patients and families.
- Manage and supervise nursing practice, including delegation to unlicensed personnel.
- Participate in continuing education and unit/hospital improvement projects.
- Maintain professional communication and represent the organization professionally.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary activities to meet care objectives.
- Document care plans, findings, and evaluations according to policy.
- Support staff development through mentoring and preceptorship.
- Provide coverage as needed for Mother/Baby unit and Labor and Delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in special care nursing of newborns, including:
- 2 years prior travel experience required
- Experience with postpartum/couplet care
- Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level II)
- Delivery attendance experience
- Current Massachusetts professional nursing license
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Additional Information
- Local rate is $8 less than travel rate (pay details excluded)
- No call requirement
