Radiology Interventional Technologist

Job Summary

  • Perform invasive radiology procedures under the direction of a Radiologist to aid in evaluating pathological conditions.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and obtain relevant medical history.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions.
  • Set up and operate imaging equipment, sterile supplies, physiological monitors, and pressure injectors.
  • Assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
  • Ensure proper radiation protection techniques are used, including shielding and dose reduction.
  • Manage image quality and documentation within PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Perform quality assurance and maintain accurate clinical and billing documentation.
  • May assist in training new personnel or students.
  • Demonstrate professional communication, teamwork, and adherence to department protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in one of the following: Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI), Vascular-Interventional (VI), or Cardiovascular (CV).
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or continuous maintenance of required medical education hours.
