Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment
Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical with Telemetry
- Unit: Med/Surg 232
- Number of Openings: 1
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
- Call Requirements: As needed
- Patient Population: All ages
- Unit Beds: 24
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC) or Medication Administration by Nurse (MAB) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

- Professional dress code: scrubs of any color allowed; casual wear not permitted
- Small-town setting with access to larger metropolitan areas (Raleigh, Durham, Research Triangle)
- Facility recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center with advanced heart failure accreditation
- Patient care includes a wide range of specialties such as cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency medicine, and more
Additional Information
- Float requirements: as needed
- Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
- Local candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
