Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) care
• Facility Type: Joint Commission Accredited hospital with 22 beds per unit
• Units: 3rd and 5th floors, Med Surg units with telemetry equipment
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Patient Ratios: 6:1 up to 7:1
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes, as second nurse on Telemetry and Emergency Department (ED) units
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: MEDITECH (experience preferred)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with MEDITECH Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Ability to float to Telemetry and Emergency Department (ED) units as needed

• Orientation sessions are bi-weekly with specific start dates
• Patient care includes surgical cases, peritoneal dialysis exchanges, placements, and psychiatric considerations

• Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no unacceptable attire specified
• Location highlights: Approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, close to major universities and local attractions
