Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per weekend, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- High school diploma, college diploma, or official academic transcripts (third-party verification acceptable; unofficial transcripts not accepted)
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable (check unit-specific requirements)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify prior to start)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required using specific Ohio code (3701.881) within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than 1 year
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring required
- Education accreditation verification mandatory immediately after contract signing
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Annual review and acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies required for new contracts
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive; TB questionnaire required annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; medical exemptions require documentation
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination acceptable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); mask required if declining
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership (charge RN acceptable as second reference)
- Employment application required, including education verification for nursing candidates (not applicable here)
- Skills checklist required
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
Work Environment and Logistics
- Parking permits available for purchase (costs and options subject to change)
- Floating between campuses may be required
- Night shift weekend schedule with 36 hours per week
This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist seeking a travel contract with weekend night shifts, working with advanced ventilator equipment in a multi-campus hospital setting.
