Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Float requirement: Must be willing to float within 5 hospitals within skillset.
  • Block scheduling is NOT allowed.
  • Must pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract (2 attempts allowed). Test must be taken on a PC (not iOS devices). Failure to pass results in contract cancellation and denial of rehire.
  • Schedule: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).
  • Charting system: EPIC.
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Experience with open heart recovery directly from the OR.
  • Experience with balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella devices, and ECMO.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Jersey.
  • NURSYS verification required.

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year criminal history (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years).
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
  • Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable).
  • Professional references: 2 within the last 2 years.
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually).
  • Work history verification: Minimum 1 year prior employment verified (NJ state requirement).

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within the last 12 months.
  • Fit mask test completed at designated Occupational Health location within the first week of assignment (no outside fit tests accepted).
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire if positive history.
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination accepted)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen without THC within 6 months, updated annually.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required by October 31 (exemptions considered case-by-case, declinations not accepted).
  • Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better).
  • Latex questionnaire.

Additional Requirements

  • Facility-specific documents including badge photo submission by deadline.
  • Personal or auto insurance required if assigned to home health locations.
  • Car registration required for home health assignments.

Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be submitted at time of application; late submissions are not accepted.
  • Local rate adjustments apply for candidates living within 50 miles of the hospital (not included here).
