Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Description
- 8-bed high acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult cardiac patients
- Receives patients from Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac care
- Collaborative multidisciplinary care team focused on optimal patient outcomes and patient comfort in a safe environment
Work Schedule & Environment
- 36 or 48 hours per week available (36 hours guaranteed)
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays as required
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
- Solid navy scrub dress code
- Patient-facing role
- On-site position (not remote)
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Parking available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, with at least 1 year of recent CVICU experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) or Red Cross equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS certification if working in pediatric unit (not required for this adult CICU role)
Additional Notes
- Timesheet approver role (primary and backup) may be assigned
- Must demonstrate high professional competency and ability to collaborate effectively with the care team
