Description
Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (overnight)
Job Description
- Work every other week or as needed based on department demands; every other holiday rotating with regular staff
- Provide care for critical care patients in the Emergency Department
- Must be able to care for psychiatric and pediatric patient populations
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills required
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly and timely
- Escalate concerns appropriately to ensure patient safety
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
- May need to float onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of 2 or more prior travel nursing assignments
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) training
Additional Information
- Onboarding includes completion of required education attestations, onboarding modules, and onsite orientation
- Must provide a valid driver’s license or state ID matching address requirements
- May be required to complete additional unit-specific checklists (optional)
- Prior travel experience is mandatory (minimum two prior travel contracts)
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs with strong critical care skills, prior travel nursing experience, and the ability to work overnight shifts in a dynamic environment.
