Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on Med/Surg Telemetry unit with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
• Rotating shifts: 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM.
• Facility may require shift rotation to meet operational needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.
• No block scheduling for 48-hour contracts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience within the last year.
• Current certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
• Annual flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted).
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel within 12 months, updated annually.

Background and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Comprehensive background check including 7-year FCRA compliant search.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 48 hours of contract signing; must be updated annually.
• Education verification required.
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
• References: 2 professional references from within 1 year of start (manager, supervisor, or charge nurse).

Orientation and Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
• Modules include mandatory training videos and tests; skipping videos will lock out access.
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided for medication competency exam.
• Baseline competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation at orientation (passing scores required).
• Candidates with less than 6 months gap since last assignment at this facility may be exempt from some orientation requirements.

• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID at all times during assignment.
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
• Candidates failing fit mask due to facial hair must shave or submit approved medical/religious exemption.
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and training prior to clearance to start.
• Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty.

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts, typically 4 shifts per week (48 hours/week).
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
