Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care in a Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and a Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU).
  • CSICU is a 4-bed unit focused on adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures requiring critical care and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
  • CSU is an 8-bed stepdown unit caring for patients recovering after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
  • Work schedule includes holidays as required and every other weekend.
  • Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week, with 36 guaranteed hours.
  • Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
  • Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
  • Minimum of 2 years of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
