Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location
- Springfield, Missouri

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Shift
- Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekend hours as required by facility
- Guaranteed weekly hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Unit Information
- Surgical Telemetry Unit (32 beds)
- Patient ratios (estimates): Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:8
- Equipment includes Alaris pumps, telemetry monitors, lift equipment
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
- Patient population: Cardiac and Medical-Surgical patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience and competence in drug titration
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification from AHA
- Experience in trauma nursing (inpatient)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
- Float on a rotational basis within the unit
- Utilize skills in drug titration
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.; pinch up to 15 lbs.
- Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Flexible scheduling may be required based on patient care needs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel nurses from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made on the back end of the assignment; no RTO in the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
- Dress code: black scrubs; no torn clothes, open-toed shoes, or non-scrub attire
