Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry (Travel)
Location
- Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Job Type
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend shifts: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule period
- Call requirements: None scheduled; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit type: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Number of beds: 40
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric
- Types of patients: Total joint replacement, surgical patients, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required in Arizona
- ACLS certification required
- BLS and NIH certification also required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty
- Recent acute care experience required
- Prior travel experience required
Job Expectations
- Ability to manage a 6-patient ratio
- Floating to other units such as Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) expected
- Telemetry skills required
Preferred Qualifications
- Preceptor and charge nurse experience is a plus
Work Environment & Equipment
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
- Equipment used: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
Orientation & Scheduling
- Orientation provided weekly
- No block schedule requests accepted; 48-hour shifts can be considered but not guaranteed
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Black top and bottom
- Open shoes are not allowed

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Recent acute care experience
