Description
Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry
Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
Call Requirements: None scheduled; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Unit Beds: 40
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
Unit & Work Environment
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Float Expectations: Must float to other units including Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED)
- Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
- Patient Types: Total joint replacement, surgical patients, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
- Dress Code: Black scrubs (top and bottom); open shoes not allowed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acute care nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
