Description
Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Weston, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Day shift: 06:45 AM – 05:15 PM (4x10-hour shifts)
- Liver transplant call required; may assist with other cases if no liver/transplant cases available
- Must float within scope to meet facility needs
- On-call requirement: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12's or 40 hours for 8/10's
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of direct liver transplant or operating room RN experience
- Strong experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures (including organ implantation, not just harvesting)
- Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA equipment required
- First-time travel nurses accepted
Required Certifications
- Current ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Current BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (must obtain prior to start)
Licensure
- Florida RN license required (pending licenses accepted)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
- 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 1 year of start (no FL Medical Marijuana card accepted)
- Smoke-free facility: candidates must be nicotine-free; negative nicotine (cotinine) test required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required vaccinations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal influenza vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
Onboarding & Training
- Completion of time-sensitive online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone)
- Pass/fail testing on EKG and pharmacology during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
- Required competency exams and safety manual acknowledgements
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application

This position requires a highly specialized RN with transplant experience and strong procedural skills in a fast-paced operating room environment. Compliance with all background, health, and training requirements is mandatory.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida (pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Transplant experience, including liver transplant procedures
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must obtain prior to start)
