Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina

Position Details

• Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Required to float within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local Candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Tele Competency: Required
• Preferred Experience: Previous charge experience and community hospital experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification

Orientation & Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 4-6 hours) prior to start is mandatory
• Must complete and sign agency job description before starting
• Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start
• First Day Instructions and OurDay platform modules must be completed before orientation; failure to complete will result in being sent home
• COVID vaccination records preferred but not required; if declined, a vaccination declination form must be completed

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • Statewide and national criminal checks
  • Sex offender registry
  • FACIS 3 and international searches if applicable
• Employment verification of last 3 clinical employers required
• Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
• Annual TB questionnaire completion required
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
• Respirator medical clearance annually for patient-facing staff
• COVID vaccines highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated

• Color blindness test required prior to start
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
