Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit
Location: Silverdale, Washington
Unit: Med-Surg/Telemetry (North Tower 5)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Yes, based on unit needs
Holiday Requirement: Preferred, to be discussed during interview
Call/Standby: No
Floating: As needed
Unit Details
- 18 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
- CNA-to-patient ratio: 1:9
- Patient population includes medical-surgical overflow patients with diagnoses such as CHF, diabetes, UTI, non-critical sepsis, hypertension, COPD, isolation cases, end-of-life/palliative care, patients awaiting placement, and post-op general surgery
- Telemetry/Monitor Techs available on unit
- Respiratory equipment used: CPAP and BiPAP (no High Flow)
- Charge Nurse role filled by RN
- RNs are responsible for reading cardiac strips (pending position approval)
- RNs titrate drips limited to Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10 mg/hr)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care
- Current BLS certification
- Valid Washington state RN license or Compact RN license
Orientation & Dress Code
- Unit-specific orientation: 2 shifts
- No specific scrub color required
Additional Notes
- Unit Manager will conduct the phone interview
- Floating to other units as needed
