    ICU Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

    Location: Los Angeles, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
    Hours per Week: 36


    Job Summary

    • Registered Nurse for Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
    • Requires 2 years of ICU nursing experience
    • Must hold a current California RN license

    Required Certifications

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
    • NIH Stroke Certification (within 1 year of start)
    • Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor (must be obtained within 30 days of start; Blue Fire Card only)
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (valid within 1 year, no expiration)

    Additional Required Training & Competencies

    • Background checks including 7-year location history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search
    • Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent)
    • De-escalation modules attestation
    • Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training)
    • Job description acknowledgment via DocuSign
    • Access request and badge/parking forms
    • Orientation checklists to be completed within first 30 days (general, unit-specific, CORE competencies, unit tour)

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam clearance within the past year
    • Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small masks accepted)
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test (QGold, Tspot, or two-step PPD within 12 months) or chest x-ray if past positive
    • TB questionnaire within 14 days of start
    • Positive titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella; boosters required for low titers; declinations not accepted except for Hepatitis B with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer
    • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September - March)
    • COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination
    • Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for ICU

    • 2 professional references required for travel/per diem acute care roles

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with ICU experience within the last year
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
