Registered Nurse (Med Surg/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
Unit: Med Surg/Telemetry floor (may float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units or low acuity ICU)

Job Description

• Work on a busy Med Surg/Telemetry floor with a night schedule.
• No on-call required.
• Floating to other Med Surg/Telemetry units or low acuity ICU may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Certifications required:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (AHA, Apex, or HealthStream only; must be updated annually).

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours.
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if previously positive.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (1 booster if low/equivocal titers)
  • Hepatitis B titer or series (booster or signed declination if low titer)
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (1 booster if low/equivocal titers)
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (11/1 - 3/31); no declinations or exemptions accepted.
• COVID vaccination or medical/religious exemption required prior to start (agency exemption form accepted).
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Additional Notes

• EPIC test-out is required for all candidates (except certain excluded roles). Candidates have one attempt to pass; failure results in contract cancellation.
• N95 fit test required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually. No PAPR allowed. Failure to pass fit test results in contract cancellation.
• Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start.

This position offers a structured night shift schedule on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit with a focus on candidates who have recent Epic experience and required certifications. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
