Job Opportunity: ED Observation RN (Emergency Room)
Location
- Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type
- Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shifts, 19:00 - 07:30
- Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating shifts required
Unit Details
- Observation Unit with 16 beds
- Patient population: Adult
- Clinician to patient ratio: 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
- Census typically 10-16 patients
- Floating to other units required
Job Description
- Provide general Emergency Department nursing care including:
- Patient assessment and documentation
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- EKG and cardiac monitoring (must be able to read telemetry strips)
- Point of care testing
- Splinting
- Critical thinking and patient education
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Minimum 2 years working as a travel nurse
