Description
Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic Infusion
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (07:30 AM – 04:00 PM)
- No weekends or holidays required
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
- Work setting: Outpatient clinic infusion with 46 rooms
- Patient diagnoses include genitourinary cancers (kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular), hematology (lymphoma, multiple myeloma, CLL), and sarcoma
- Documentation system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of infusion experience, including infusion experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS or ONCC)
- Experience in outpatient and clinic settings
- Experience with EPIC documentation system
Compliance and Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting with specific Ohio codes
- Education must be from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leader
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Certifications and Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification) – verify per assignment
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Fit mask test required annually for patient-facing roles; outpatient clinic roles may be exempt
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire annually in lieu of TB test
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions require documentation)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1–3/31) with mask requirement if declined
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Background check and fingerprinting results must be approved prior to start
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required for contracts signed 5/19/25 and beyond
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse reporting form and training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually for new contracts signed 11/7/24 and beyond
This position is ideal for experienced outpatient infusion RNs with chemotherapy certification who are seeking a travel contract in a day-shift outpatient clinic setting without weekend or holiday work.
