    Description

    Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab

    Location: Sacramento, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
    Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
    Hours per Week: 36 hours
    Call Requirement: One night per week and up to every other weekend
    Orientation: 2 floor-specific shifts


    Job Description

    Seeking experienced Cath Lab nurses for a travel contract in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab. The unit performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures including TAVR, Mitraclip, peripheral vascular cases, and advanced technologies such as Rotablator, IVUS, Shockwave, Impella, and Balloon Pump. The facility is a STEMI tertiary referral center and Chest Pain center accredited.

    • Unit has 3 Cath Lab rooms
    • Approximately 3,000 cases per year
    • EMR systems: Cerner and Merge Hemodynamics for Cath Lab documentation
    • Support staff includes Cardiovascular or Radiology Techs with Cath Lab experience
    • Intensivist coverage in-house
    • IV team, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy available 24/7
    • Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
    • Scrubs provided

    Required Qualifications

    • Active California RN license
    • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab nursing experience
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
    • Must provide 2 supervisory references: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
    • Valid government-issued ID matching application name (no middle initials or names)

    Additional Requirements

    • Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with the specified health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
    • Completion of a Dys exam through UNA within 24-48 hours prior to contract signing is mandatory (pass/fail with 2 attempts allowed). A recent Relias Dys exam (within 12 months) may be accepted if previously taken. Failure to pass will disqualify candidates from this and related facilities.

    • 12-hour day shifts with call responsibilities
    • Up to every other weekend work required
    • High-acuity patient population with complex cardiac interventions
    • Collaborative multidisciplinary team environment
