Ultrasound Tech - Echocardiology

Location

  • Elko, Nevada

Employment Type

  • Travel assignment

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • 40 hours per week guaranteed
  • Rotating weekend call from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • No weekend hours scheduled outside of call

Unit and Patient Information

  • Adult Echocardiography department on Floor 1
  • Trauma Level 4 (rural)
  • Facility has 75 beds
  • Patient load: approximately 5 outpatients per day (one-hour scheduled slots) plus 1-3 inpatients daily
  • Equipment used: GE E95 ultrasound machine
  • Electronic Health Record system: Medhost VidiStar

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in adult echocardiography within the last year
  • Certifications required:
    • ARDMS (AE) Adult Echocardiography or CCI (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)
  • Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program

Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in:
    • Routine Echocardiography
    • Stress Echocardiography
    • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
    • Contrast (Definity) Administration
    • Agitated Saline Studies

Additional Information

  • Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
  • Orientation sessions held weekly on Mondays
  • Professional scrub attire required; camo patterns are not acceptable
  • Personality fit: self-starter

Call and Float

  • Rotating weekend call required (8 AM to 8 PM)
  • No float requirements
