OB Surgery Tech - Denver, Colorado

Job Summary

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique.
• Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to surgeon’s preference.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and supplies; maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases.
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique.
• Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to policy and standards.
• Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment.
• Care for instruments and equipment.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Night shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of OB Technician experience, including experience within the last year.

Education

• High school diploma or GED, or training in the US military.

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid OB Technician license in Colorado.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Surgical Technician Certificate.
