    Description

    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Lakeport, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Address physical, psychosocial, safety, rehabilitative, and learning needs of patients and families.
    • Collaborate with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services.
    • Manage care of assigned patients and direct ancillary staff activities.

    Schedule

    • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
    • Weekend rotation required
    • No on-call requirement

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
    • Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Additional Requirements

    • Primary source license verification within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
    • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter (or equivalent checks if FACIS not available)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated annually
    • Education verification of highest level achieved (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
    • References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement, not client)
    • Completion and signing of facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
      • Job description acknowledgment
      • Standards of Business Conduct
      • Vendor training and Code of Conduct (for contracts signed 5/31/24 and beyond)
      • TB questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider
      • Conditional offer of employment attestation
    • Respiratory safety clearance completed prior to start, renewed annually

    Competencies and Testing

    • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
    • Pass/fail EKG exam required onsite after start for ICU and telemetry RNs at certain locations

    Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
    • No on-call duties are required.
    • Weekend rotation is mandatory.
    • Religious and medical exemptions for immunizations and fit testing may be considered with proper documentation and approval.

    This position offers a structured night shift schedule in a California ER setting, requiring solid ER experience and multiple certifications, with comprehensive background and health screening protocols.
