Job Opportunity: Cath Lab RN
Location: Round Wock, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:30 AM – 03:00 PM
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Assess, prepare, and position patients for procedures.
- Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
- Prepare, implement, and document plan of care.
- Communicate patient condition to physician before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures.
- Set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience
- Specialty: RN Cath Lab

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Current nursing license verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.

- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Health and immunization documentation including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes, with chest X-ray if positive
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Testing and Competency
- Completion of specialty-specific competency exams prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years, including:
- Specialty exam with minimum 80% passing score (max 2 attempts)
- Core competencies exam covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score (max 2 attempts)
- Skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Cerner electronic health record test and training checklist with signed attestation prior to assignment.
Additional Requirements
- Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file.
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding onsite.
- Documentation of assignment confirmation and employment verification as required.
- Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Badge photo (optional) with specified background requirements.
