Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU
Location
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift and Schedule
- Rotating shifts: Day (06:45–19:15) and Night (18:45–07:15)
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- One holiday shift required
- No on-call duties
Job Description
- ICU experience required, specifically in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Proficiency with:
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT/CVVHD)
- Hemodynamic Monitoring
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)
- Impella devices
- Care of postoperative heart surgery patients (CABG, valve surgeries)
- Floating may be required to any Adult ICU or Telemetry unit depending on census
- Charting system: EPIC
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Proficiency with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT/CVVHD)
- Proficiency in Hemodynamic Monitoring
- Experience and proficiency with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)
- Experience and proficiency with Impella devices
Additional Notes
- No prior travel experience required
- Floating assignments may include Adult ICU or Telemetry units
- Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam during orientation; failure results in contract cancellation
- Facility does not provide fit testing onsite; must be completed prior to start
- Fingerprinting and child abuse clearances must be current and on file before start date
- Facility requires completion of Joint Commission Safety Manual acknowledgment annually
- Orientation includes pass/fail testing acknowledgment for dysrhythmia exam
This position is ideal for experienced ICU nurses with cardiovascular critical care skills seeking a travel contract in Philadelphia with rotating shifts and a supportive facility environment.
