Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide home health nursing care across multiple San Diego neighborhoods.
- Schedule and weekend shifts to be confirmed during the interview.
- Work hours: Day shift, typically 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Guaranteed hours based on completing 25 patient visits per week (25 visits = 40 hours).
- Mileage reimbursement follows IRS standard rates.
- COVID vaccination proof or approved exemption required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of home health nursing experience within the last year
- Experience working with geriatric patients in a home health setting
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with OASIS
Required Documentation (to be submitted prior to start)
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID).
- Valid passport copy.
- Employment application.
- Background checks including 7-year location history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually).
- Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, plain background).
- Personal or auto insurance and auto registration (with current expiration dates).
- Signed acknowledgments for training content and hand hygiene policy.
- Skills checklist (updated annually).
- Competency exams as applicable (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score).
- NURSYS verification for RN license.
Additional Notes
- COVID exemptions are permitted.
- Rate and coverage territory may affect compensation (not included here).
- Locals may be eligible for travel rate.
This position is ideal for experienced home health RNs with geriatric experience seeking a travel contract in the San Diego area.
