Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Department (ED/ER)
- Shift: Days, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (must be specified on submission)
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None

- Block schedule not accommodated
- Requests for contingency and flexible guaranteed hours must be indicated on submission
- Return to Office (RTO) time off must be made up later; no RTO approval in first week
- Only one holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Certifications:
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center
- Number of Beds: 68
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge or other circumstances
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
- Follow nursing practice guidelines consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
- Utilize nursing process to deliver care and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by others

- Demonstrated clinical expertise in emergency nursing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy urban trauma center environment

Physical and Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Dress code: Black scrubs required; unprofessional attire such as jeans is not allowed
