ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Charlottesville, Virginia

Job Overview

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Setting

  • Float Pool position covering various ICU and intermediate care units, including:
    • Medical ICU
    • Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU
    • Coronary Care Unit
    • Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1)
    • Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU
    • Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit (COVID)
    • Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit
    • Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit
    • Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit
    • ED Boarders (patients admitted but boarding in ED prior to room assignment)

Schedule and Time Off

  • Night shifts only
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday off
  • Time off restrictions:
    • No time off approved for 4th of July or between July 12-19
    • No return to work (RTO) approved during the first 2 weeks of assignment
    • Up to 40 hours of time off can be approved (block scheduling not guaranteed)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
