Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Telemetry

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Accountable to nursing leadership and responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs on MedSurg/Telemetry units.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use appropriate patient education materials.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and update plans of care.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on individual needs.
• Anticipate and plan for patient discharge needs.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Participate in professional growth, unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care initiatives.
• Communicate effectively within and across departments.
• Recognize and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care.
• Apply research findings to clinical practice when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.
