- Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirement
Job Description
- Provide nursing care demonstrating knowledge of evidence-based practice, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and regulatory standards.
- Perform clinical procedures including IV insertion, Foley catheterization, and wound dressings.
- Utilize telemetry monitoring, ventilators, and administer medications safely.
- Accurately document patient assessments and changes in condition.
- Educate patients and families effectively.
- Act as a patient advocate and work both independently and collaboratively within the healthcare team.
- Maintain professional appearance and complete assigned duties timely.
- Accept constructive feedback and take initiative for follow-up care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including social security trace, county searches, sex offender registry, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
- Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings.
- Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually.
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Annual flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually.
- Color vision exam by licensed healthcare provider prior to start.
- References: 2 professional references within last 3 years required.
Documentation and Training
- Must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- Required to complete competency exams as applicable, including medication and telemetry competencies.
- ICU and telemetry RNs at this location must pass an onsite EKG exam after start.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.

- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps in application.
- Employment verification required for up to 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
- Attestations for unverifiable employment are limited and require approval.
