Description
Radiology Interventional Technologist
Location
- Detroit, Michigan
Job Summary
- Perform invasive radiology procedures under the direction of a Radiologist to aid in evaluating pathological conditions.
- Prepare patients and explain examination procedures.
- Assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
- Operate and manually control imaging and physiological monitoring equipment.
- Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions.
- Set up sterile equipment and ensure adequate supplies.
- Assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
- Follow radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
- Manage imaging data and documentation in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Perform quality assurance and maintain accurate medical records.
- May assist in training new personnel or students.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Includes a call schedule
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Healthcare Provider certification (BLS)
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an advanced registry in one of the following:
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- BLS certification
- ARRT certification in one of the following: Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or maintenance of required hours of continued medical education
