Registered Nurse Supervisor (RN Supervisor)

Location: Fairview, Pennsylvania
Facility Type: Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility (LTC/SNF)
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Overview

• Serve as the building supervisor during evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Oversee floor nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Not assigned direct resident care tasks; focus on staffing and operational supervision.
• Act as a resource for nursing staff throughout the shift.
• Monitor resident condition changes and issues.
• Schedule outside services (labs, portable x-rays, etc.).
• Contact physicians or nurse practitioners for resident needs/issues after hours.
• Perform specialized nursing tasks only RNs can do: central line care, chest tube care/management, IV starts, admission orders, and fall assessments.

Facility & Unit Details

• Total beds: 300 across 6 units (A, C, G, H, J, K).
• Units include a secure dementia unit and a currently closed COVID unit.
• Majority of floor nurses are LPNs; RN Supervisor is not part of the staffing grid for direct care.
• EMR system used: PCC.
• Hospice care available with 2 dedicated hospice rooms.
• No telemetry monitors or respiratory therapists on site.
• Oxygen therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, O2, nebulizers, inhalers, and tracheostomy care (no ventilators).
• Pharmacy available weekdays during business hours; emergency drug closet accessible after hours.

Schedule & Shifts

• Shift: Evenings (approx. 2:45 PM – 11:00 PM), 8.25-hour shifts including a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
• Hours per week: 38.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, with option to work more.
• Holiday requirement: Yes, scheduled 2 weeks in advance; work required if holiday falls on scheduled day.
• No call or standby; work scheduled shifts only.
• No floating; position covers entire building.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification
• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) electronic medical records system

Additional Information

• Must use facility timeclock system. Lost badge replacement fee applies.
• Dress code: Clean, professional scrubs of any color except camouflage.
• Unit-specific orientation: 3 days.
• Interdisciplinary team includes PT, OT, SLP, case managers, social workers, and dieticians.
• Physician and NP available by phone after hours; contact routed through DON, manager, or RN supervisor.

Patient Population

• Residents aged 18 and older.
• Includes long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, dementia, and hospice patients.
