Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic Surgery
Location
- Missoula, Montana
Employment Type

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Every third weekend required
- No call requirements
Unit and Patient Population
- Acute Care unit with 31 beds
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty (Medical/Surgical Telemetry)
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required
Skills and Clinical Requirements
- NG tube placement and management
- Foley catheter placement and management
- Chest tube maintenance
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Common Diagnoses and Treatments
- Small bowel obstructions
- Diabetic complications
- Wound care
- Acute kidney injury
- Pneumonia
- Sepsis
Additional Information
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with an Associate degree or higher
- Float to other units as appropriate to experience
- Scrub color: Any solid color (fluorescent colors not acceptable)
- Personality fit: Outgoing, excellent communication skills, adaptable to change
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Orthopedic Surgery
