Description
RN ICU - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Work primarily in the ICU with patient assignments in CVICU, Neuro ICU, and Burn ICU (CVICU & Neuro experience preferred but not required).
- May float to Neuro ICU, Burn ICU, Med/Surg, or IMC units as needed.
- Assignments will be within your skill set.
- Must be willing to float onsite or to other sites within a 40-mile radius if required.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred.
- Travel nursing experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing with verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
- Minimum years of ICU nursing experience: Not explicitly stated (assume standard ICU RN experience expected).
- Prior travel experience preferred but not explicitly required.
- Must pass specialty competency exams and skills checklists prior to and during assignment.
- Ability to complete and maintain required health screenings and immunizations, including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA with annual questionnaire; chest x-ray if positive)
- Annual fit test for respirators (preferred prior to start)
- Annual 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Must complete required onboarding education and attestations, including:
- Specialty exam with minimum 80% passing score
- Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score
- Epic test-out and training checklist
- Color vision test
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and annually
- Must provide:
- Professional resume/profile
- Two professional references
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG, and sex offender registry within 90 days of start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
- Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
Additional Notes
- Onboarding includes completion of specific modules and attestations prior to or at start.
- Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Must be able to work night shift hours.
- Floating flexibility required within skill set and geographic area.
- EPIC experience and testing required.
This position is suitable for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with critical care patient populations and flexible floating assignments.
