Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in an acute care unit with 34 beds, serving primarily geriatric and adult patients; occasional pediatric patients are present but not assigned to travelers.
• Patient population includes telemetry, surgical, and general medical cases.
• Typical patient ratio is 6:1.
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, and telemetry monitors.
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner.
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7a-7p / 7p-7a).
• Weekend work required occasionally.
• Call required only when unit is down staffed or placed on call.
• Float assignments possible to care for inpatient holds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel nursing experience
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Environment & Culture

• Flexible and willing to help personality fit preferred.
• Dress code: scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes only.

Additional Information

• Orientation provided bi-weekly.
• Local candidates must live 60 miles or more away to qualify for travel status.
• Weekly hours approximately 36.
