Description
Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: Ventura, California (including surrounding areas such as Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Saticoy, El Rio, Ojai, Oak View, Casitas Springs, Mira Monte, Santa Paula, and possibly East Ventura areas like Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Description
- Provide home health nursing care primarily in Southern California locations listed above.
- May be asked to assist in additional nearby areas as needed.
- Schedule and weekend work to be confirmed during the interview.
- Guaranteed hours based on completed visits: 25 visits equate to 40 hours.
- Mileage reimbursement provided at IRS standard rates between patient visits.
- COVID-19 exemptions permitted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of home health nursing experience within the last year
- Experience working with geriatric patients in a home health setting
- Experience with OASIS documentation
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start.
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP vaccine within the past 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) proof of immunity or vaccination for candidates born in 1957 or later.
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination accepted if within 1 year of start).
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (declinations not accepted).
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; if past positive, annual TBQ and chest x-ray within 5 years required.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required year-round.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof or medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
Documentation and Background Checks
- Government-issued photo ID and valid passport required before start.
- Background check including 7-year search of locations lived/worked/schooled, sex offender registry, and other standard screenings.
- Annual verification of EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG databases.
- Employment application and 2 professional references required.
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, with minimum passing scores.
- Photo for badge (passport style) required before start.
- Personal or auto insurance and auto registration must be current and maintained during assignment.
- Review and sign facility-specific training content and hand hygiene policy acknowledgments prior to start.

- Candidates must be prepared to travel locally within the specified Southern California areas.
- Rate and coverage territory may affect compensation (not disclosed here).
