Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel Assignment

- Sacramento, California

Job Description
- Experienced CVOR RN needed for a fast-paced, busy cardiovascular operating room.
- Must be confident in CVOR skills including scrubbing (preferred but not mandatory).
- Work involves 4-6 heart surgeries per day (CABG, valve surgeries; no thoracic cases).
- Utilize Cerner EMR system.
- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips (Telemetry required).
- 10-hour day shifts, approximately 40 hours per week.
- Schedule includes varied shifts plus overnight call once a week.
- Weekend coverage required: staff must cover 3 weekend shifts per month (including 1 weekend call).
- Holidays rotate with core staff.
- Orientation includes 1-2 days in OR with a preceptor.
- Support staff includes CSTs (nurse aides), RT available 24/7, pharmacy 24/7, and surgeon available during regular hours with call coverage overnight and weekends.
- No IV team support.
- Scrub color provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience.
- Active California RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications.
- Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted).
- Must provide 2 supervisory references at time of application (1 within past 12 months, 1 within past 3 years).
- Valid government-issued ID matching application name required.
Additional Information
- Charge nurse oversees overall OR.
- No regular weekend schedule; weekend shifts are as needed.
- Ventilator experience is a plus but not required.
