Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Scheduling: No block scheduling; floating required within 5 hospitals based on skillset
Holidays: Required to work 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday
Call: No call required
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Job Description

• Float assignment across multiple hospital locations within the region.
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia competency test within 72 hours of contract signing (2 attempts allowed). Test must be taken on a PC (not iOS devices). Failure to pass results in contract cancellation.
• RN and Monitor Techs monitor telemetry on the unit.
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG screenings.
• Verification of highest level of education (diploma or transcript acceptable).
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Fit mask test to be completed onsite within the first week of assignment; religious exemption form available if applicable.
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if positive history.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test without THC panel within 6 months, updated annually.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31; documentation must include detailed vaccine information.
• Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better).
• Latex questionnaire.
• Two professional references within the last 2 years.
• Employment application and updated skills checklist.
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (NJ state requirement).

Additional Notes

• Local rate adjustment applies for candidates living within 50 miles of the hospital.
• Candidates cannot start if ACLS or BLS certifications expire within 30 days of contract start.
• Dysrhythmia test is mandatory and failure to complete or pass will result in contract cancellation.
• Fit mask testing must be completed at the designated occupational health location; outside fit tests are not accepted.
• Floating may include hospitals in Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and the primary hospital.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with telemetry skills who are flexible with floating and able to meet strict competency and compliance requirements.
