Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Joplin, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend and Call Requirements: As required by the facility
Unit and Patient Information
- Unit Type: Cardiac Med Surg / Stepdown
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6
- Patient Types:
- Post cardiac catheterization
- Atrial fibrillation (Afib)
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Stable myocardial infarction (MI) patients
- Post-op surgical and trauma patients (Stepdown experience helpful)
- Medical cardiac patients including pacemaker insertion and non-titrated cardiac drips
- Equipment Used: IV pumps, glucometer, GE monitoring equipment, computers
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting, including Stepdown and ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with post-op surgical and trauma patients in Stepdown units
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
- Dress code: Black scrubs only; no other colors or attire allowed
- Nurses utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, maintain accountability, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient confidentiality and rights

Contract Flexibility
- Contract length flexible between 8 to 26 weeks
- Guaranteed hours options: 36 or 48 hours per week (subject to facility approval)
- Blocked scheduling requires facility approval
- Return to work (RTO) within 5 days or less with makeup of hours on the back end
