    Description

    Critical Care RN Travel – California, Fairfield

    Job Summary

    Provide safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care in a critical care setting, utilizing a relationship-based care model. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care focused on physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health and recovery.

    Contract Length

    • 8 weeks

    Work Schedule

    • Night shift
    • 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)
    • Overtime after 40 hours per week; double time after 12 hours per day
    • Must be willing and able to float to a sister facility as needed

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
    • Acute care nursing experience
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

    Job Responsibilities

    • Deliver nursing care consistent with interdisciplinary plans and nursing practice models
    • Continuously assess patient physical and psychosocial conditions and formulate nursing diagnoses
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans ensuring patient safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention
    • Perform nursing skills and educate patients and families on health care needs
    • Evaluate care effectiveness and modify plans as necessary
    • Safely use equipment, instrumentation, and medications
    • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care team members
    • Advocate for patients’ rights and informed decision-making
    • Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care within legal standards
    • Coordinate patient care activities with healthcare team members
    • Document nursing care according to hospital policies using manual and automated systems
    • Communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats
    • Assist in resolving complaints to improve patient experience
    • Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor tasks
    • Complete annual organizational employment requirements
