Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location
- Springfield, Missouri

- 13 weeks
Shift
- Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekend hours as required by facility
- Guaranteed weekly hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Unit Information
- Medical Telemetry Unit (32 beds)
- Patient ratios vary: Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)
- Equipment includes telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year in an inpatient setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
- Experience and competence in drug titration
- Valid Driver's License
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Care for patients with medical and telemetry needs, including those with developmental delays
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
- Float on a rotational basis within the unit
- Work night shift orientation on day shift for one week at start of assignment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Flexible scheduling may be required based on patient care needs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Dress code: black scrubs only; no other scrub colors allowed
- Holiday time off requests limited to one per assignment
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made after the first week and made up later
