    Description

    Infusion Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

    Location: San Francisco, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Assist with expanding hours at an Outpatient Infusion Center.
    • Provide infusion services primarily for oncology patients, including chemotherapy, as well as some non-oncology infusions such as blood transfusions and injections.
    • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4 shifts of 10 hours each (8:30 AM to 7:00 PM). No weekends or on-call required.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California.
    • Minimum 1 year of infusion nursing experience within the last year.
    • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable.
    • Education verification required; BSN preferred but not mandatory.
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
    • TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD testing with annual renewal.
    • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles (Rubeola)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests).
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually.

    Certifications and Competencies

    • Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) certification mandatory.
    • BLS (AHA or ARC).
    • Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, CCRN, TNCC, or others may be required depending on position specifics (verify with employer).
    • Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
    • EKG competency and pass/fail testing required onsite after start for ICU and telemetry nurses (if applicable).

    Documentation and Orientation

    • Must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
    • Complete conditional offer of employment attestation prior to start.
    • TB questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider required within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
    • Photo for badge (passport-style, color, solid background) required for per diem only.

    Work History and References

    • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; verification required for up to 7 years.
    • 2 professional references required for clinical positions within 3 years of hire.

    Shift Details

    • Day shift, Monday through Friday.
    • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (40 hours/week).
    • Hours: 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
    • No weekend or on-call responsibilities.
