Location

• Marshfield, Wisconsin

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation: typically 2 of 3 winter holidays, then every other holiday
• No call requirement

Unit Overview

• Medical-surgical / progressive care / telemetry neuro trauma unit
• 28 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6 depending on acuity
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Nursing assistants are on the unit
• Floating required to sister medical-surgical units and other specialty units

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of medical-surgical, progressive care, or ICU experience
• Experience in the specialty within the last year
• Experience titrating drips
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Preferred Experience

• Home trach and vent experience

Clinical Skills / Patient Population

• Neuro-focused and trauma/orthopedic patient population
• Common care includes trachs, vents, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and EtCO2
• Must be open to learning vents

Orientation

• 1 shift of general orientation
• 1 shift with a preceptor

Additional Notes

• Self-scheduling is used
• Any solid-color scrubs are allowed
• Clocking in and out at the facility is required
• Open to first-time travelers
• If the clinician has ever worked at this facility, there must be a 6-month gap before submission
