Transfer Center - Clinical ICU RN

Location

• Rancho Cordova, California

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• 12-hour evening/night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active RN or LVN license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of ICU, ED, or transfer center experience
• Acute care experience
• Critical care assessment skills
• Ability to follow algorithms
• Strong clinical judgment
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to learn quickly and multitask
• Strong computer skills

Job Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient transfers from hospitals
• Complete patient assessments and review clinical information after intake
• Find accepting physicians and specialists
• Request beds at appropriate facilities
• Refer patients out when needed if working in the LVN role

Scheduling

• Must be available any day of the week
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required when needed

Orientation

• 1 day of general hospital orientation
• 3 to 5 days of department orientation

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted
• No direct employment with associated facilities within the past year
• Two supervisor references are required at submittal
• A typing test score is required at submittal
• A DYS exam must be completed before signing the contract
