RN - Step Down

Job Overview

  • Location: Springfield, Missouri
  • Employment type: Travel
  • Specialty: Tele/Stepdown in the ED/ER
  • Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekly hours: 36 or 48
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Openings: 4

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS certification is required before start
  • 1 year of experience in Stepdown
  • Stepdown experience within the last year
  • Telemetry experience
  • ED - Emergency Department experience

Schedule and Assignment Details

  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Weekend coverage is required as needed by the facility
  • No call required
  • RTO must be made up later in the assignment
  • RTO is not approved in the first week
  • Only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, and availability for the entire week is required

Clinical Setting

  • Emergency Department
  • 68 beds
  • Typical patient ratio is 4:1
  • Level 1 trauma, stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center

Additional Notes

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required from November 1 through April 1
  • Black scrubs required
  • Unprofessional attire and jeans are not allowed
  • High-acuity experience is preferred
  • Trauma/peds experience and handling 200+ patients per day are preferred
  • Local candidates are paid below the travel rate
  • Housing is not mentioned
