RN - Step Down
Location

- Night shift, 19:00–07:30
- 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week assignment
Unit Details
- Stepdown unit
- 10 beds
- Patient ratio: 1:3–4
- May float within the cardiac stepdown, surgical stepdown, and medical stepdown service line
- Patient population includes neurological disorders, strokes, trauma, post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Stepdown experience within the last year
- 1 year of stepdown experience
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification from AHA
- ACLS certification from AHA
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Every other weekend required
- No call
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, and the traveler must be available for the entire week of orientation
- RTO of 5 days or less must be made up on the back end
- Only 1 holiday RTO request per assignment
Clinical Environment
- Uses EPIC
- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the time, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, and pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs
Preferred Experience
- Neuro experience
- Trauma experience
Additional Requirement
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations are not accepted
